The new iPhone is probably one of the most short after gadgets of all time, certainly the new iPhone is one of the quickest selling.

History will probably mark the launch of the first iPhone as a landmark telecom and internet moment.

In the mobile telecoms market there have been very few moments that have captured the public imagination in quite the way the new iPhone has, Perhaps the launch of the first mobile phones, although this was a very slow adoption curve or the launch of the first camera phones. Probably the nearest we have come to this mass adoption hysteria, prior to the launch of the iPhone was the release of the RIM Blackberry.

The new iPhone has change the way people use their phone, for the first time internet browsing and the use of portable applications has become common place.

Yet the iPhone is still managing to command a premium price in both the new and second hand mobile phone markets.  In addition to relatively high purchase prices for the iPhone handset itself you typically will find less inclusive minutes in your pre-paid bundle. Although up to now “all you can eat” data bundles have been common place the mobile operators are finally wising up to the fact that data is the future and the commoditised of “all you can eat “data tariff is likely to become a thing of the past.

Despite alleged problems with the new iPhone 4 it continues to be the must have mobile device  of the day.
